WHAT IS IT?

Mustang Elite’s Summer Team is a high-intensity, results-driven training program designed for athletes aged 9-18 who want to enhance their speed, power, and, endurance to excel in football, basketball, soccer, and other sports. Our practices include personalized training and are incorporated in small event-specific groups starting at the beginning of May and lasting until July. We will have an “event test” at the beginning of the season to decide what event in track and field best suits you. A typical practice includes a team warm-up and a fundamental workout. Then, our event groups complete a workout guided by our top-tier jump, speed, and strength coaches.

After the summer, we want each athlete to walk away with new personal records and a solid understanding of the fundamentals that drive long-term success, both in training and in everyday life. Whether you or your athlete is looking to dominate on the field, court, or pitch, Mustang Elite’s Summer Team provides the tools and techniques needed to become the best.

SPRINTS

Learn and optimize technique, efficient acceleration, and maintaining top speed

ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Preseason practices will begin on Saturdays in April at Mustang High School from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and last until May with practices switching to Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The weekly practices will carry through to the week of the Junior Olympics in July. Track meets are on weekends during May-July and cost anywhere between $5-$40 per athlete to compete in.

    We plan to compete at 6 track meets including 2 AAU qualifying meets and the AAU Junior Olympics.

  • Although going to track meets is not a requirement, we strongly recommend it as part of the track and field experience. We practice to compete and show off our growth at track meets at the local, regional, and national levels.

  • Practices:

    • Personal Water Bottle

    • Running shoes & track spikes (If applicable for the event)

    Track meets:

    • Personal Water jug

    • Running shoes & track spikes (if applicable for the event)

    • Race uniform

    • Sunscreen/ lotion

    Optional but recommended for track meets:

    • Personal lawn chair

    • Tent

    • Hat

    • Light snacks for in-between events (oats, fruit, nuts)

    • Ice chest with extra water

  • You will need to find or provide your own transportation to track meets. We have carpooled in the past when able.

  • An AAU Membership ID is required to compete at track meets and will cost $20/$22/year.

  • Track meets are not included with the team price. The price to enter an athlete into a meet, depends on the number of events the athlete competes in. On average, each meet will cost $35 per athlete.
