ELIJAH EDWARDS

Founder and Head Hurdles:

Growing up in Mustang, Oklahoma, and running track and field for nearly a decade, Elijah Edwards has seen track and field put off and neglected in Oklahoma. Coaches would never be track and field-specific; most of those on the team would only see it as a chance to get out of school. The few that took it seriously, didn’t have the resources and outlets to grow or show off their skills. Mustang Elite Track Club provides that outlet for athletes to grow and show off their talents while building up athletes in other sports.

For the past 3 years, Elijah Edwards has coached at Mustang High School and recently helped the girl’s team win their first-ever state championship last year! Before coaching, Edwards ran varsity for both hurdle races, the 4x400m relay, and the 4x200m relay at Mustang High School. As a senior, Edwards received a scholarship to continue his track career at Oklahoma Christian University where he ran the 4x400m relay and the 400m hurdles. After his first year competing at the next level, Elijah Edwards left college to pursue a career in coaching and video editing.
